Nenad Roban, izv.prof.art. (Koprivnica, 1951.) diplomirao je oblikovanje nakita na Kraljevskoj akademiji lijepih umjetnosti u Antwerpenu, gdje je polazio i poslijediplomski studij na Višem institutu.
Početkom 90-ih je osnovao atelijer za izradu nakita i objekata u različitim materijalima u kojem i danas stvara. Od 2008. godine u zvanju docenta predaje Oblikovanje nakita, kasnije Objekti za tijelo i prostor te Dizajn: povijest i suvremenost na Akademiji primijenjenih umjetnosti u Rijeci. Od 2009. godine predaje Uvod u dizajn, Arhitektura i dizajn i Uvod u medije na odsjeku nederlandistike na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Od 2020. godine predaje Dizajn:povijest i suvremenost na Poslovnom veleučilištu Zagreb. Član je HDDa i HDLUa. Od 1973 godine izlaže na samostalnim i skupnim izložbama u zemlji i inozemstvu.
Nenad Roban, Associate Professor of Art (Koprivnica, 1951) graduated in jewelry design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he also attended postgraduate studies at the Higher Institute. In the early 90's he founded a studio for making jewelry and objects in various materials in which he still creates today. Since 2008 he has been teaching as Assistant Professor of Jewelry Design, later Objects for Body and Space and Design: History and Modernity at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. Since 2009, he has been teaching Introduction to Design, Architecture and Design and Introduction to Media at the Department of Dutch Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. Since 2020, he has been teaching Design: History and Modernity at the Zagreb Business Polytechnic. He is a member of HDD and HDLU. Since 1973 he has been exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad.

Pomislio sam, ako su poruke ili slike virusi, onda je dovoljno da ih neko vrijeme nema, pa neće biti niti virusa. Dakle, dovoljno je proglasiti (samo)izolaciju od slika i poruka i nakon nekog vremena ponovno ih možemo doživljavati na neki nov, svjež način. Virus slika i poruka u vrijeme izolacije nametnut je online-putem; bilo je tu svega i svačega u obilatim količinama: online je poslužio za samoodržanje, kao sredstvo za preživljavanje, kao način spašavanja sustava rada, obrazovanja i društvenog života. Prvi put smo sve ono što doživljavamo vlastitim tijelom doživjeli na daljinu, “osuđeni” samo na gledanje i slušanje. Bili smo i ostali zahvalni tom online virusu slika i poruka, jer nas održava u nadi i uvjerenju o prolaznosti, ali i upozorava da budemo spremni na mogućnost budućeg (su)života.

I thought, if messages or pictures are viruses, then it is enough that they are gone for a while, and viruses will disappear too. So, it is enough to declare (self)isolation from images and messages, and after a while we can experience them again in a new, fresh way. The virus of images and messages at the time of isolation is imposed online; there has been anything and everything in abundant quantities: the online served for self-preservation, as a means of survival, as a way of saying the system of work, education and social life. For the first time, we experienced everything we usually do with our own body at a distance, "doomed" only to watch and listen. We were and remain grateful to this online virus of images and messages, because it keeps us in the hope and belief of transience but also warns us to be ready for the possibility of future coexistence.
