Iva Džaja
(Split, 1992.) diplomirala je slikarstvo na Umjetničkoj akademiji u Splitu, u klasi profesora Viktora Popovića. U sklopu studija u 2017. provodi semestar u Njemačkoj u Muthesius Kunsthochschule, Kiel gdje sudjeluje na nekoliko radionica i jednoj izložbi. Završila je filmsku školu u Kino klubu Split. Dosada je ostvarila tri samostalne te sudjelovala na nekoliko grupnih izložbi u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu. Članica je Hrvatske udruge likovnih umjetnika Split.

Iva Džaja (Split, 1992.) graduated painting at the Art Academy in Split, Croatia, in the class of Professor Viktor Popović. As part of her studies in 2017, she conducted a semester in Germany at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule in Kiel where she participated in several workshops and one exhibition. She completed film school at Split Cinema Club. So far, she has had three solo exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. She is a member of Croatian Association of Visual Artists Split.

Na samom početku pandemije Covida19 bili smo suočeni s mnoštvom kontradiktornih informacija o ograničavanju kretanja kao i prebacivanjem svakodnevnog života i radnji u virtualni prostor. Velika većina snimanja grada za potrebe stvaranja Google Street View arhive na području Splita odvijala se tokom 2011. – 2013. godine. Rad u tom kontekstu u sebi sadrži notu jedne vrste digitalne nostalgije. U kasnijoj fazi pandemije gdje sve više dolazi do rasprava oko pitanja ''slobode'' pojedinac koji se nekoć naizgled vrlo nesputano kretao ulicama svog grada a njegov identitet je bio zaštićen zamagljivanjem lica, a ne maskom - dodatno potiče taj dojam. Sama crno bijela fotografija sa sobom pak nosi konotacije prošlosti.

At the very beginning of Covid19 pandemic, we were faced with an abundance of contradictory information about restricted movement as well as shifting everyday life and activities into virtual space. The vast majority of filming of the city for the purpose of creating the Google Street View archive for the Split area took place during 2011-2013. In this context, the work contains a kind of digital nostalgia. In the later phase of the pandemic, and a debate about the issue of "freedom" growing, an individual who once seemed to move freely through the streets of his city while his identity was protected by blurring the face and not by a mask - additionally encourages this impression. The black and white photograph itself carries connotations of the past.
