Sunčanica Tuk rođena je 1944. u Sarajevu (Bosna i Hercegovina). Diplomirala je slikarstvo na Akademiji likovnih umjetnosti u Zagrebu 1971. od kada je članica HDLU-a u Zagreb, a od 80-ih i HDLU-a Varaždin. Samostalno je izlagala 26 puta te na brojnim skupnim izložbama u zemlji i inozemstvu. Paralelno s umjetničkom praksom bavila se i prosvjetnim radom. U izdanju Pastorale 1999. i 2022. objavljene su joj mape grafika, a 2004. monografija. Retrospektivna izložba Sunčanice Tuk održana je 2017. u Galeriji Prsten u Zagrebu, 2018. u Galeriji starih i novih majstora u Varaždinu i Galeriji Koprivnica. Djela joj se nalaze u muzejima diljem Hrvatske i u privatnim zbirkama u zemlji i inozemstvu. Sudjelovala je u radu brojnih likovnih kolonija i humanitarnih akcija. Za svoj rad dobila je nekoliko nagrada (1996. nagradu Ministarstva kulture RH na 1. hrvatskom trijenalu crteža, Kabinet grafike HAZU, Zagreb). Živi i djeluje u Varaždinu.

Sunčanica Tuk was born in 1944 in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She graduated with a degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1971. Since then, she has been a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) in Zagreb and, since the 1980s, also a member of the HDLU Varaždin. She has held 26 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Parallel to her artistic practice, she has also been involved in teaching. In 1999 and 2022, her print portfolios were published by Pastorale, and in 2004, a monograph about her work was published. A retrospective exhibition of her work was held in 2017 at the Prsten Gallery in Zagreb, in 2018 at the Gallery of Old and New Masters in Varaždin, and at the Koprivnica Gallery. Her works can be found in museums throughout Croatia and in private collections both domestically and internationally. She has participated in numerous art colonies and humanitarian actions. She has received several awards for her work, including the 1996 Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia Award at the 1st Croatian Triennial of Drawing, held at the Department of Prints and Drawings of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb. Lives and works in Varaždin.

U reduciranom i hermetičnom apstraktnom sustavu koncept i poruka su imanentni formi, stoga je semantika slike tajnovita (nevidljiva). Unatoč tomu, koliko god djelo bilo ispražnjeno od vidljivog sadržaja, ono ipak ima svoj dijalog sa stvarnošću. 

Within a condensed and hermetic abstract system, concept and message are immanent to form, making the semantics of the image secretive (invisible). Yet, regardless of its apparent formal emptiness, the artwork maintains its own dialogue with reality.
